SPECIFICATIONS

Based on a speedcar chrome moly chassis, the V6 Sprint runs a Mitsubishi 3.0 litre V6 engine commonly found in older model Magna's, Veradas and Pajero's. The engines are basically stock standard with the exception of balancing etc. The class rules stipulate that two down draft Stromberg carburettors converted to run Methanol fuel are used and tuned length extractors get the gasses out. These engines produce remarkable power and are very sturdy.

A top wing and front wing are used, not only to help with handling but to add to the safety of the cars. 13" maximum wheel diameter and 10" wide on the rear limit the tyre sizes that can be used, however this still allows plenty of rubber on the ground which adds to the cars ability to corner very quickly.

The cars are quite quick with track record times at various tracks showing the only speedway cars that are always faster are Sprintcars. Race times for Speedcars and Formula 500's show they are faster at some tracks while we may be faster at others. Both of these classes cost considerably more to build, own and run than a V6 Sprint which makes our class very good 'bang for the buck' racing.
